`Save Brosnan` campaign sparks online petition to MGM

Bond News12-02-04
Fans angered at the recent rumours about MGM chiefs axing Pierce Brosnan from the next film Bond 21 have launched an online petition to help save the current 007 from the chop.

The original press rumour cited MGM as being concerned about Brosnan not being able to attract young audiences to the level they want to achieve, and how a new, younger actor is required to re-energize the franchise.

One of the many conspiracy theories surrounding the alleged leak is that the rumour is purely a PR exercise to gauge public reaction on Brosnan`s age.
