Amazon and MGM may push for No Time To Die award nominations

14-Jun-2021 • No Time To Die

Amazon and MGM may be gearing up a campaign to land award nominations for ‘No Time To Die’.

Although the film is still a few months away from release and critics are yet to view it, that did not stop Lashana Lynch from laughably winning last year’s GQ Breakthrough Performance award for the unseen film. Executives at leading streaming companies are amongst the few who will have seen the film, as MGM was touting it for sale to a platform earlier in the year (before Danjaq put a stop to that).

According to the latest newsletter from former Hollywood Reporter editor Matthew Belloni, MGM has a slew of films that will could push for awards. “And don’t forget ‘No Time To Die’,” he adds. “Daniel Craig’s last Bond movie, which I’m told will get a Best Picture push à la the final Lord of the Rings.”
