Vancouver event searching for James Bond cars

Event - 17-06-12
The Vancouver Sun alerts us to the Shaughnessy Concours event will celebrate 50 years of James Bond movie cars at VanDusen Botanical Garden in September.

Nigel Matthews of Hagerty Canada is in charge of procuring the event cars and is looking locally for examples of the most memorable Bond cars owned by private collectors.

Obviously Im not looking for the original cars used in the movies, but I do know there are good examples of many of the Bond cars in British Columbia, said Matthews.

The proposed display will include the still shots from the movies showing how the cars were used.

Matthews is looking for the following cars with the colours in brackets: Aston Martin DB5 (silver birch); Lotus Esprit (white); AM V-12 Vanquish (anthracite grey/black); Ford Mustang Mach I (orange with black stripe); BMW Z8 (silver); AMC Hornet (red with white stripe); Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II (silver); Citroen 2CV (yellow); and Sunbeam Alpine Series II (light blue).
