'Skyfall' passes $1.1b mark at the worldwide box-office

Skyfall - 12-02-13
'Skyfall' is increasing its margin of victory over all previous 007 adventures as it has now broken the astronomical $1.1b figure at the worldwide box-office.

Even accounting for inflation, 'Skyfall' is the highest grossing James Bond film of all time, leaving the long-term record holder 'Thunderball' for dust.

Daniel Craig's third outing as James Bond has almost made as much money as his first two combined: "Casino Royale" ($599m) and "Quantum of Solace" ($586m).

Despite being released on Blu-Ray and DVD today, the film added $434,210 at the US & Canadian box-office at the weekend across 370 screens. If it is still playing somewhere on Friday, it will be one of very few movies to still be on its first general release run whilst being available to purchase.

'Skyfall' became the 7th highest grossing film ever last week, but it needs an additional (and unlikely) $19m to take the #6 spot from 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King'.
