Olga Kurylenko: 'Bond wasn't my goal. It just happened'

Actor News - 25-02-13
The Ukranian star of "Quantum of Solace" recently reflected on her career and her brush with Bond in an interview with Metro.

Although, in contrast to Berenice Marlohe's well-documented campaign to become a Bond girl, Kurylenko says that becoming a Bond girl wasn't a big dream, she does admit that she was keen to make the move from modelling to acting as quickly as possible:

With modelling, you go somewhere for 24 hours and you dont even see the city, you dont talk to people or see the culture. I didnt keep any friends, because you cant make friends. Its very difficult. Also, apart from work, they all hang out in modelling crowds and parties. I never did. I didnt feel I belonged there.

She's becoming a recognised face in Hollywood, but despite this, Kurylenko prefers to make her life outside of America. "When Im in America, I feel like Im so far away from my roots, and here I dont Im European. Just walking on the street in London makes you feel like everything has a meaning," she says of London, her new adopted home.
