Expert model makers MiniChamps are releasing two new versions of the classic Lotus Esprit from "The Spy Who Loved Me" this month.

Even though nearly all vehicles driven by Her Majesty`s Secret Service Agent James Bond featured a certain versatility, the Lotus Esprit from the movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" has to be granted with a special status. It was not only equipped with the "usual" extras normally installed in a Bond official car, but it could also be used as a submarine.

During a spectacular car chase the white sports car helped Roger Moore alias James Bond to escape via an unusual route - namely straight into the ocean. However, the car not only served as an getaway car, but also as an adequate weapon to fight against the submarine station of Bond`s adversary Stromberg. Therefore, this vehicle was the secret star of James Bond`s 10th adventure.

The Lotus Esprit road going version from "The Spy Who Loved Me" will be released in the third week of January 2004 - model number 400135270. The submarine version will be released the following wee - model number 400135220.
