'Skyfall' by Adele is Amazon's second best selling single ever

Skyfall - 16-10-13
As part of their 15th anniversary celebrations, Amazon UK has released lists of their best sellers 'of all time' (since the first order was placed in 1998).

The James Bond franchise is, as you would expect, part of the action. It's Adele's theme for the 2012 blockbuster 'Skyfall' that makes the biggest impact, landing at #2 in the 'bestselling singles of all time' chart, behind Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name' (which was a Christmas #1 stunt in 2009). Psy's 'Gangnam Style' was number 3.

Adele also landed the 'best selling artist of all time (all formats)', and the top two spots in the 'bestselling albums of all time (all formats)' chart.

"Skyfall" is the best selling DVD & Blu-Ray to date in 2013.

Since starting out as an online bookseller in 1998, Amazon.co.uk has expanded year on year and now offers customers more than 100 million products across more than 30 stores, commented Xavier Garambois, Vice President of EU Retail at Amazon. The bestsellers help to tell a story of the phenomena that have gripped the UK, from the big game changers in entertainment to innovation in products for the home and the rise of celebrity chefs.
