Charles Dance turned down 007 audition opportunity

Bond News - 10-04-14
The current "Game of Thrones" star, Charles Dance, reportedly turned down the chance to audition for 007 in the 1990s. He previously played Bond's creator, Ian Fleming, in the 1989 TV biopic, "Goldeneye".

Dance turned down the golden opportunity on advance from his agent, Contact Music reports. "She (my agent) might have been right. I don't know that it would have ruined my career, but I am not sure I was right (for the part) anyway."

The actor also had a bit part in the 1981 Bond film, "For Your Eyes Only", in which he played henchman Claus.

Thanks to Bob for the alert.
