Sir Sean Connery backs 'Yes' campaign for Scottish Independence

Actor News - 01-09-14
Although the former James Bond star left the country years ago, Sir Sean Connery is backing the 'Yes' campaign for Scottish independence.

Connery, a close friend of First Minister Alex Salmond, previously said he would move back to Scotland after a Yes vote.

He said in a statement: "The Yes campaign has centred on a positive vision for Scotland. It is rooted in inclusiveness, equality and that core democratic value that the people of Scotland are the best guardians of their own future."

The referendum vote will be held in Scotland on Thursday 18 September 2014. Connery himself is not eligible to vote as he is not a permanent resident.
