Sir Roger Moore wins damages

Actor News - 13-05-15
Sir Roger Moore was falsely accused of having "groped" and paid unwanted affection to actress Debbie Newsome who played the flower shop girl in 1981's "For Your Eyes Only".

Moore, the BBC reports, has won back his court costs, damages and an apology from Associated Newspapers.

The Daily Mail and Mail Online published the story back in October 2014. They have since admitted it was false.

"The defendant apologises for any distress and embarrassment caused to Sir Roger and his family," said a spokesperson.

Newsome has since described her time on set positively, saying she had "the best time" shooting "for Your Eyes Only".

Thanks to Samuel for the alert.
