Daniel Craig to play Iago in 2016 production of ‘Othello’

Daniel Craig will play Iago in an off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s Othello in the autumn of 2016.

He will appear alongside David Oyelowo (The Histories, Selma), playing the title role, in the limited-run staged by the New York Theater Workshop directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold.

Craig was last on stage in New York in the 2013 Broadway revival of ‘Betrayal.’ Before that he appeared in the 2009 Broadway production of ‘A Steady Rain’ with Hugh Jackman. Both shows were box office smashes.
