Tabloid silly season begins with Bond 25 director rumours

Before Sam Mendes was brought on for ‘Skyfall’, EON Productions considered several interesting choices for a potential Bond director.

Guy Ritchie was not one of them.

But according to the Daily Mirror, ‘The Man From UNCLE’ director would be a suitable candidate to helm the 25th James Bond film.

A ‘source’ told the paper: “Guy has had a run of box office successes but it was The Man From U.N.C.L.E that really caught the Bond producers’ eye. The film had many of the elements associated with 007. Guy created a world of espionage and action with a bit of comedy. He’s the frontrunner for the next Bond movie – for now.”
