One last hurrah for 'SPECTRE' at US cinemas

Bond News - 22-02-16
Sony made a final push with the release of 'SPECTRE' in the USA by adding 293 screens to a total of 340 engagements (last week it had only 47).

Perhaps in a bid to get the film over the $200m mark, AMC also ran a 'buy one get one free' ticket promotion that runs until Thursday 24th February.

According to box office estimates, 'SPECTRE' added $105k to its total this weekend (19th-21st February). It jumped from #50 to #35 in the national chart, despite the fact that the film is available to buy on Blu-Ray and DVD in the USA.

'SPECTRE' is now on its 16th week on release in the USA, and is the oldest widely released film to still be playing in the top 50 charts.

Can the film keep going a little longer to break the magical $200m box office total?
