Australian actor Eric Bana denies `Next James Bond` rumour

Actor News - 04-05-04
While it's anyone's guess what the Broccoli family are planning for the next James Bond film, ever since the rumours hit that the owners of the long-running franchise were no longer in talks with Pierce Brosnan to return, the media and fans alike have been frantically speculating on what new actor will don the white tuxedo jacket to play the super suave and sophisticated British Spy, 007 - reports Zap2It.com

"The Hulk's" Eric Bana has nixed the rumor Friday (April 30), saying that he has not been approached to play the role.

"Someone told me that yesterday," he laughs. "That's not something I've ever really contemplated -- no, I wouldn't be a Bond, no."

While he didn't give reasons as to why he would turn down the role, Bana does say that he and Jackman are "close buddies."
