Sarah Michelle Gellar eyes a female James Bond role

Actor News - 20-10-04
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy in the long-running Vampire Slayer TV series and star of the coming The Grudge, wants to follow Pierce Brosnan as the next James Bond 007, reports Ireland Online.

She says: "I don't see why Bond shouldn't be played by an actress. Everybody else seems to be talked up for the role but so far no female has been considered!"

Deja vu? Informed Bond followers may remember she came out for some press coverage two years ago with a similar quote.

Back in December 2002, shortly after "Die Another Day" hit theatres, Gellar said "I want to see more women action stars. I don`t see why James Bond has to be a man all the time. When Pierce Brosnan retires I`m going to be the next Bond."

Thanks to `JP` for the alert.
