James Purefoy says keep talking about him as the next James Bond and it might happen

Casino Royale - 05-11-04
British actor James Purefoy is refusing to quash rumours he's in the running to play James Bond because he hopes the constant media speculation will aid his chances - reports ContactMusic.

The 40-year-old star hopes to get the highly sought after 007 role vacated by Pierce Brosnan, and thinks rumblings in the press will get the attention of Bond producer Barbara Broccoli.

Purefoy says, "Of course, I'd love to do it but it's up to Barbara Broccoli. Keep talking about it and who knows."

MI6 revealed earlier this year that Purefoy had screentested for "GoldenEye" in 1995, and is currently the top candidate to take over from Brosnan.

Thanks to `Mathew` for the alert.
