Young Australian actor Sam Worthington in the running for James Bond role says Variety

Casino Royale - 29-09-05
Relatively unknown actor Sam Worthington has joined the gaggle of hopefuls rumoured for the James Bond role in "Casino Royale".

Variety has named the 29 year-old Australian actor as a front runner for the role, alongside four-times 007 Pierce Brosnan, British actor Daniel Craig, youngster Henry Cavill and director Martin Campbell's favourite Goran Visnjic.

As MI6 reported yesterday, with shooting scheduled to commence in early January, pressure is on for Sony and Eon Productions to agree on the casting of 007. An announcement has been planned for early October if a consensus is reached by all parties over the next week.
