Rittenhouse announce plans for Casino Royale trading cards set

Collecting - 09-08-06
Rittenhouse have announced plans for Casino Royale trading cards set, but it will not be what most collectors are expecting.

Speaking in a Q&A; session on their website SciFiHobby, company president Steve Charendoff said:

We have decided to take a rather unorthodox approach to Casino Royale. Rather than issue a stand-alone set for this movie at the time of the film's theatrical release, we are going to build a Mega-Bond set for release to coincide with the DVD release in March. This Mega-Bond set will focus very heavily on Casino Royale, but it will also contain elements from all 20 of the previous Bond films. Again, it's a bit unorthodox, but I felt we could benefit significantly by waiting until after the movie has been released to put together the best Casino Royale cards possible.

We will inevitably have more autographs, more costume cards, more prop cards, more, more, more, because right now a lot of these elements are simply not available to us. After the film's release, we will have much greater access to all the good stuff, including special effects images and more.

I realize it is hard to wait, but I am convinced that it will be well worth it.

Thanks to all of you for your patience and faith in us to make the best Bond sets possible, which is always our goal.
