UK bank Alliance and Leicester revealed as Casino Royale funder

In minor news related to the last James Bond film Casino Royale, a piece by Variety today exposes the mechanisms involved in financing a blockbuster.

According to the trade paper, U.K. law firm Davenport Lyons brokered the funding deal with the production company and UK bank Alliance and Leicester for Daniel Craig's debut outing as 007.

�Hedge funds are becoming increasingly interested in the film industry, where there can often be great opportunities for impressive gains,� said Davenport Lyons partner Sam Tatton-Brown.
