Recent Bond writers confirm their strike status, Bond 22 script not polished

Writer Paul Haggis, who handed the Bond 22 script to producers a couple of weeks ago, is now on strike with the Writers Guild of America and has admitted the script needs polish. Haggis has predicted a lengthy strike.

With the 22nd James Bond film due to shart shooting in January, could producers turn to other writers who have worked on recent 007 outings?

It would appear not, as a "not a word" pledge was recently published by the WGA in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter with a long list of names, including:

Michael France (Goldeneye)
Bruce Feirstein (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough)
Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Bond 22)
Paul Haggis (Casino Royale, Bond 22)

But all is not lost, as producer Michael G. Wilson has worked on the scripts of previous Bond films, including "Licence To Kill" when regular scribe Richard Maibaum was on strike with the WGA.
