In a celebrity culture dominated by Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton comes Gemma Arterton to make headlines for all the right reasons - reports The Courier Mail.

At 22, six months out of acting school, the young Brit (who plays the head girl in St Trinians) lands a job as Daniel Craig's sidekick in the latest 007 film, Quantum of Solace.

But she starts work on the set of James Bond, she wraps up two other films.

She plays June in Guy Ritchie's new film RocknRolla.

That's Guy Ritchie - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - as in Madonna's husband.

Rocknrolla's another gangster story about London's criminal underworld where a Russian mobster's shady land deal, turns out to be a scam that puts millions of dollars up for grabs.

Gemma's opposite number in RocknRolla is Gerard Butler (The 300, Nim's Island and PS I Love You).

She was playing Rosaline in Shakespeare's Loves Labours Lost when Quatum of Solace director Marc Forster noticed her and asked her to audition for him.

She in an interview earlier this year, that she was on a diving boat in the middle of the ocean filming the last scene for a British comedy called Three and Out when she found out she got the part.

"The producer got a phone call from my agent and passed the phone over and he just sang the Bond theme down the phone to me. And I was like, "Nooo! Oh, my God." "

"Then I had to dive off the boat. I had to pretend that I wasn't overflowing with happiness because of the scene. Then we had dinner and lots and lots of champagne to celebrate."

She attended the premiere of Three and Out this week.

Gemma, who is completely topless in the bedroom scene, admitted she cant watch it herself but added: I dont mind my parents watching it. Its awkward but theyre OK with these things.

And when asked how you prepare for your first ever nude scene, the sexy 22-year-old joked: Shave your legs and buff your nails!
