'Casino Royale' scores almost 4 million viewers on US network premiere |
Casino Royale - 30-08-10
James Bond went head-to-head with the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, as the ABC network premiere of "Casino Royale" (2006) was up against the sure-fire ratings winner for NBC.The Emmy's broadcast did well, but not as well as it did a year before -- at least according to early estimates. The three-hour telecast hosted by Jimmy Fallon averaged 10.5 million viewers, a 6.6 rating/11 share in households and a 3.1 rating among the 18-49 demo. This is significantly down from 2009's 13.5 million and 4.2 demo number.
Nevertheless, this is still good enough for NBC to lead in the ratings race. Second place went to FOX with 7.7 million and a 4.6/8, followed by CBS (6.6 million, 4.2/7) and ABC (4.1 million, 2.6/4). In the adult demo, FOX's 2.9 rating wasn't far behind NBC. CBS had a 1.7 and ABC scraped by with a 1.1.
