Famed architect John Lautner�s Elrod House is known for its large, circular �sunburst� concrete canopy, which juts out from a hillside and appears to float above the main living area, reports MyDesert.But it�s the 60-foot-wide circular living room that many people are more familiar with.
That�s where James Bond battled bikini-clad femme fatales Bambi and Thumper before tossing them off the balcony and into the semi-circular swimming pool below in the 1971 movie �Diamonds Are Forever.�
The 9,000-square-foot Palm Springs home at 2175 Southridge Drive is on the market for $13.9 million. Lautner designed it in 1968.
The property on 6.5 acres includes two 25-foot-wide hanging glass curtain walls that retract, five bedrooms, 5.5 baths, and a pool terrace with panoramic views of Mt. San Jacinto and the city.
