"Die Another Day" has taken a combined box office of over $425.4m to date ($160.9m USA + $264.5m International), and has smashed all Bond records by soaring to the top of the series league table which was previously topped by "The World Is Not Enough" with $361m.

The impressive success in both areas has boosted "Die Another Day" in the top 50 the all-time highest worldwide box office takings league table.

The opening weekend total for "Die Another Day" in the USA broke the Bond record books when it took an amazing $47,072,040 - surpassing the previous record of $35,519,007 by "The World Is Not Enough".

"Die Another Day" also broke through the $100m US box office target faster than any Bond movie ever before - again by beating previous record holder "The World Is Not Enough".

The total takings in the USA currently stands at an impressive $160.9m, which has thrust DAD into the all-time record books as the 89th highest grossing film at the US box-office of all time.

Taking inflation into account, the film is however dwarfed by "Thunderball" which took the equivalent of $427,108,000 back at the height of Bond fever in 1965 ($63,595,658 unadjusted). "Die Another Day" is still Brosnan's most successful inflation adjusted film, nudging ahead of "Tomorrow Never Dies" at number 5 - behind "Thunderball", "Goldfinger", "You Only Live Twice" and "From Russia With Love".

Die Another Day has become the highest international grossing James Bond picture of all time with a $264.9m international cumulative score, overtaking the $242m set by GoldenEye.

The holdovers were impressive, too. In its second weekend in the UK the picture knocked Harry Potter off top spot with $8.3m from 430 theatres for a $27.9m cumulative score. After 10 days on release "Die Another Day" had grossed 90% of the final box office for 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies.

UK - notched up $2.07 million on Wednesday including the advance screenings, beating the combined first-day tallies of 1999's "The World Is Not Enough" (which made $1.07 million with sneaks), 1997's "Tomorrow Never Dies" ($606,000) and 1995's "GoldenEye" ($213,000). The earlier Bonds bowed on a Thursday. The total gross for the UK cinema release was $56.7m.

France - minted $1.2 million Wednesday in France, a record for a Brosnan Bond. The total gross for the French cinema release was $22.6m.

Switzerland (French-speaking) - took $573,000, a record for a Brosnan Bond.

Switzerland (German-speaking) - went straight to number one with $1.5m.

Germany - it opened top of the charts with $8.9m from 871 theatres - beating 1995's GoldenEye for the best Bond bow ever in the territory. The total gross for the German cinema release was $32.9m..

Belgium - best ever opening for a Bond picture with $985,778 from 80 venues.

Spain - totalled an impressive $9.8m during cinema release

Scandinavia - another best ever opening taking $1.8m from 106 screens in Sweden.

Finland - took $645,369 from 50 theatres.

Hong Kong - Fox's third-highest debut in the region with $1.14 million.

Taiwan - took $1.2 million and became Fox's fifth best ever release.

Norway - became both a Fox and MGM opening weekend record in the country with $1.2 million

Austria - became the best opening ever for a Bond film with $1.2m, a remarkable 60% higher than the previous mark set by 1999's The World Is Not Enough. It was also Fox's biggest ever opening in the territory.

Mexico - collected an impressive gross of $6.6m

Philippines - opened top of the table with a strong $1.1m from 167 theatres to register the distributor's biggest ever opening there.

Israel - grossed $271,204 from 34 theatres while in Iceland it opened number one, grossing $117,994 from six sites for another best ever opening accolade for Fox.

Croatia - grossed $97,835 from 11 screens.

Estonia - took $57,351 from three screens in for Fox's best ever debut bow there.

Latvia - $23,519 from three venues.

Lithuania - $34,637 from five theatres.

Trinidad - registered Fox's second biggest bow of all time in the territory with $66,873 from nine screens.

South Africa - gave Fox its biggest debut ever in ($449,000, also a Bond record).

India - took a total gross of $4.4m

Malaysia - second largest opening with $531,000.

Thailand - collected a total of $2.5m

Singapore - third best ever debut weekend with $887,000.

Australia - grossed $10.5m during general release.

South Korea - took an estimated $1.8 million in six days, 65% of the last two editions, hurt by anti-U.S. sentiment and a row over the way North Koreans are portrayed.

New Zealand - did set new Bond benchmarks with only $511,000, but was Fox's fourth-highest entry.

Czech/Slovak Republics - $325,000, a Fox record.

Italy - record Bond opening with $2.02 million.

Japan - set new records with an amazing $3.4m opening weekend.

Venezuela - scored $177,000 from 65 screens, Fox's second highest ever opening in the territory.
