Casino Royale German Premiere

The Casino Royale road trip arrived in Berlin
last night for the German premiere of the 21st James Bond film,
following the past week's earlier jaunts in London, Zurich, Paris and Madrid.

Principal cast members Daniel Craig (James Bond),
Caterina Murino (Solange) and Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre) joined
director Martin Campbell at the German premiere on Tuesday 21st
November 2006. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli
were also in attendance.

Daniel Craig singed hundreds of autographs for
the fans who lined the Potsdamer Platz square in Berlin, which
is also home to the conveniently placed Sony Centre - product
placement taken to the next level.

Instead of the usual Aston Martin,
the new 007 pulled up in a black sedan, but the DBS was also
on show. The red carpet stretched
the complete length of the square, from the Sony tent to the
door of the cinema, totaling a run of 60 metres.
1200 guests were invited to the CineStar theatre, amongst which
was actor Diertmar Wunder, who provides Daniel Craig's voice
for the dubbed German-language version of the film.

The screening commenced at 20:30, with all men
over 18 dressing in the mandatory tuxedo and black tie uniform
of 00-agents.
Martin Campbell told reporters on the red carpet that filming
Casino Royale "was very exciting". When asked if it
is the best Bond film to date, Campbell replied "others
must decide that".

67 year-old German actress Veruschka von Lehndorff was also
in attendance. She plays Gräfin von Wallenstein, one of
the poker players in Casino Royale. German actor Ludger Pistor,
who plays Swiss banker Mendel in the film, joined the principal
cast for the photocall.
Casino Royale opens nationwide in Germany on Thursday 23rd November
2006.
Next up... Director Martin Campbell will attend
the New Zealand premiere at SkyCity Cinemas in Newmarket, Auckland
on Thursday
30th November 2006. Daniel Craig and Caterina Murino will be
the stars of the show at the Australian premiere in Sydney on
Monday 4th December 2006. Martin Campbell and producer Barbara
Broccoli will also attend. The film opens nationwide in Australia
and New Zealand from Thursday 7th December 2006.
