The final stop on the "Quantum
of Solace" world
tour took place on Tuesday 25th November 2008 in Tokyo, Japan.
the evening's premiere, Daniel
Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Marc
Forster and Barbara
Broccoli attended a press conference at
the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Tokyo.
The premiere screening was held at Toho Cinemas in Roppongi,
Tokyo. The guests started arriving at 5pm for the red carpet
'Arena event' adjacent to the theatre in Roppongi Hills.
Hundreds of spectators gathered to catch a glimpse of the
stars, and some lucky fans who had stood by barricades for
hours managed to grab autographs or photographs with Daniel
Craig. Big screens were erected to give the ticket-only crowds
further back a good view of the action.
Producer Barbara Broccoli was one of the first to arrive,
followed by Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and then director Marc
Forster. The crowd went wild as Daniel Craig arrived and immediately
started talking to the fans. Local celebrity Osugi introduced
the stars on the red carpet, but embarrassingly forgot the
names of 007 and his director.
Japanese baseball star Daisuke Matsuzaka arrived in true 007
style in an Aston Martin DBS. Other notable Japanese celebrities
included
Emiri Henmi, Kano Shimai (Kano Sisters), George Takahashi,
Mika Mifune, Hiroyuki Watanabe, Junichi Ishida, and Izumi Mori.
After the Arena event, the guests moved on to the Toho Cinema
for the screening. The capacity in the theatre for the screening
is only around 100 people, so the Tokyo premiere was the smallest
on the "Quantum of Solace" world tour.
"Quantum of Solace" opens nationwide
in Japan on Saturday 24th January 2009. It is the final territory
for the film.
