Bérénice Marlohe smoulders in the latest issue of GQ Magazine and talks about her 'part dragon, part black panther' Bond girl character...

Bérénice Marlohe Does GQ

4th July 2012

The new Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe is already making waves, months before she will make her big screen breakthrough performance as Severine opposite Daniel Craig in the upcoming 007 adventure "Skyfall".

The French-Cambodian actress is splashed on the cover of the August edition of GQ Magazine in the UK. Inside the latest edition, she poses with a classic Aston Martin DB5 in a stylish raincoat wearing only lingerie underneath. The outfit in photoshoot, which is not a costume from "Skyfall", echoes the one worn by Gemma Arterton as Agent Fields in the previous film, "Quantum of Solace".

"With the Bond movies, you never really see nudity - they're quite chaste, actually. Which is, to me, the best way. Nowadays you see too many naked women, all the time, everywhere. In video clips. It's so boring! You lose this magic and suddenly a woman that is dressed seems way more attractive."

Some tabloids have already misinterpreted this to mean that Marlohe said 'no' to doing nudity in the film. According to rumours during filming, fans need not worry and will get to see plenty of the starlet on the big screen.

What has been well (and accurately) reported is that Marlohe went to extraordinary lengths to land the role, with little help of an agency. Perhaps this is down to her experience in her native France. "All the French agents told me, 'No, you don't look like a French actress, this will not work.' Even people who saw me in acting workshops and wanted to introduce me to people; when those people considered my picture, they said, 'No, she will never work in France.' I don't know what to say. I was not in the mould."
