Director Sam Mendes,
who is returning to helm Bond
24 after the record-breaking success of "Skyfall",
talked about the next 007 adventure to American interviewer Charlie
Rose
this month.
Amongst the discussion, Mendes made the following points:
-
He decided
to return, after initially turning
down the job due to time constraints, as he had started a "number
of stories that were incomplete" such as casting a new
M, Moneypenny and Q (and not Tanner as he incorrectly states)
-
Bond 24 will feel like the second part of "Skyfall",
although it will not be a story continuation
-
Bond 24 and Bond 25 will not be a two-part story (as
originally intended) although John Logan will pen both
-
"Characters were allowed to age [in
Skyfall]"
-
The noise of the audience when the DB5 is
revealed in "Skyfall" was enough to make him want
to do it all over again
