As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations
for the iconic movie 'Goldfinger' later
this year, Hot Wheels in the USA will release a commemorative
collectors edition Aston
Martin DB5 model.
The 'super deluxe' model is part of a new range from Mattel,
owners of the Hot Wheels brand, and will be launched alongside
collectibles from the Simpsons and Star Wars franchises.
The
chrome Aston Martin DB5 model, which does not include the famous
ejector seat that made the original Corgi toy to popular, will
be included
in an attractive display case and is expected to retail for around
$40.
Mattel will preview the full range at Comic-Con in San Diego
next month.
Although left largely dormant since Hornby took
over ownership, it is unclear if Corgi still retain any die-cast
model rights
to the James Bond franchise.
