Video
Featuring a 2.35:1 transfer, "For Your Eyes Only" enjoys its
best home release to date, only to be surpassed by the inevitable
HD release in the future. The Lowry process has remastered light
and colour levels, bringing the film back to the quality of
the day it was first processed. Compression artifacts are almost
nonexistent and all film specks and dirt have been removed.
Audio
The DTS track is better than the Dolby Digital track on this
release, but both are very good. Lip sync is almost flawless,
with only a few minor issues that were present in the original
edit. Smaller,
more
subtle,
sounds
are
now clear
and crisp, which have not been heard properly since theatrical
distribution. Fans of the sub woofer will be impressed by its
use throughout.

New Bonus Features
Newly Recorded Audio Commentary Featuring Sir Roger
Moore - A rather interesting
commentary with tons of anecdotes and stories. Very refreshing
compared to standard commentary
tracks on most films.
Deleted Scenes and Expanded Angles -
Introduced by John Glen, this feature contains a deleted
scene where Bond
dumps the Zamboni's snow on the hockey players; another
scene hints a bit of jealousy from Melina when she discovers
Bond spent the night away from his hotel room; and an alternate
camera angle of Bond kicking Locque's car down the cliff.
Bond in Greece - Michael G. Wilson narrates this clip containing
behind the scenes footage of the heroin smuggling bust,
the casino sequence with Cassandra Harris, and a backgammon
game between Roger Moore and Cubby.
Bond in Cortina - Narrated by Michael
G. Wilson, this is another feature containing behind the
scenes footage of
the long distance ski jump, Rémy Julienne on the
motorcycle, and Willy Bogner skiing in the bobsleigh run.
Neptune's Journey - More archived footage narrated by Michael
G. Wilson, this time about the Neptune submarine and how
it was used as a publicity prop to promote the movie.

One Last Thing....
ITV produced a special television programme covering the London premiere of "For
Your
Eyes Only" and the special guests the Prince and Princess of Wales, including
interviews with key cast and crew members. It survives in fan VHS collections,
but not
on any official release...
