Live And Let Die - Illustrated
5th August 2007
A new illustrated edition of Ian
Fleming's second James Bond novel "Live And Let Die" was
published on 26th April 2007 by The
Folio Society.
The Folio
Society began in 1947 when Charles
Ede, a young soldier returned from the war, started up a small
press and made his
pledge to produce beautiful, affordable editions. Sixty years
later, the company is still producing books with unique designs
and commissioned illustrations which cannot be found in book
stores.
This new 252 page hardback edition comes complete
with decorative boards and slipcase. Artist Lyndon Hayes was
commissioned
for seven
interior illustrations for key scenes in "Live And Let Die".
The book is cloth bound with silver and gold foil emboss and
typeset
in Sabon with Black Tulip display.
As an added bonus, novelist Ken Follett provides
an exclusive introduction to the story. Follett was once rumoured to
be the new James Bond continuation author ahead of Sebastian
Faulks being unveiled as the centenary novelist.
The recent Penguin
reprint of "Live And Let Die" featured an introduction by
Louise Welsh.
Currently, the Folio Society have no plans to
publish any further Ian Fleming novels.
