Bond On Bond Announced
15th April 2011
Press Release
Sir Roger Moore will provide a guide to the cars, gadgets and girls of the James Bond movies to help celebrate the spy series' 50th anniversary on the big screen.
Louise Dixon, Michael O'Mara senior editorial director, bought world rights to Bond on Bond from Lesley Pollinger at Pollinger Ltd. The book will be published in September 2012, coinciding with 50 years of the Bond film franchise and the release of a new movie featuring the suave super-spy.
Michael O'Mara said: "Once you have worked with Roger you find yourself saying, like Oliver Twist: ‘Moore please!'"
The book will feature Moore's thoughts on the flashy gadgets, fast cars and evil villains that made the Bond series so iconic. It will also serve as a part memoir as Moore reminisces about his own time as Bond. He replaced Sean Connery as James Bond in seven films, beginning with "Live and Let Die", released in 1973.
Dixon said: "We are truly delighted to have secured this fabulous book filled with fantastic colour photographs and memories from Sir Roger: the ultimate Bond book from the ultimate Bond himself!"
In 2008, Michael O'Mara published My Word is My Bond, Moore's autobiography. It has sold 106,219 copies in all editions, for £1,121,609.64, according to Nielsen BookScan figures. |

Moore commented: "I'm greatly looking forward to delving into my memory box again and rummaging through the photo albums to admire my great physique, dashing good looks and full set of teeth."
Lesley Pollinger said: "We are all hugely looking forward to working with Sir Roger and the Michael O'Mara team once again on this ultimate Bond-on-Bond book and will share a celebratory martini at the London Book Fair. I would also like to share Sir Roger's actual enthusiastic response on hearing that O'Mara had secured the rights - but sadly, like so much of his wit, it is unprintable!"
