Pierce Brosnan Is James Bond

7th June 2014

Twenty years ago this week, Pierce Brosnan was unveiled to the world as the fifth 007...

On June 7th, 1994, Pierce Brosnan was announced as the new James Bond to the world's press, although it wasn't the first time he had accepted the role, after having to bow out of "The Living Daylights" in 1997.

After a gap of four years since Timothy Dalton's second Bond movie "Licence To Kill", a series of legal disputes had stalled the next film going in to production. The delay caused Dalton to gracefully bow out, and gave Brosnan a second chance at the famous tuxedo.

The video report below comes from E! Entertainment News and gives a window in to how the US media covered the announcement.

"Actors come and go, but James Bond never dies."
