Story
- MI6 HQ
Bond makes his way through Whitehall and towards Westminster
Bridge, where he uses the key to sneak though a door underneath the archway. A
metal spiral staircase leads him to a disused underground tube station. Seemingly
derelict since the 1950s, the damp and dirty tunnels leads Bond to M who is waiting
for him.
Bond and M exchange information in a very tense atmosphere, and
now suitably convinced of his abilities, M allows Bond to proceed with his investigation
of Graves.
Muffled gunfire in the MI6 building stirs Bond from his office
and into action. Terrorists are attacking. Bond guns through the corridors, takes
out a guard holding Moneypenny hostage before Robinson enters the action. As he
storms M's office, Robinson is shot dead. The terrorist is holding M as a human
shield, but Bond shockingly shoots M through her shoulder, and the bullet travels
through her and into the terrorists heart - killing him instantly. The scene dissolves
into wireframe as Q opens the door of the new virtual reality training room. Mocking
his failure, Q reminds Bond that shooting his boss counts as a fail.
Bond
and Q head for his gadget hideaway, where all the previous equipment made by the
department is stored. Q demonstrates his latest creation, a sonic agitator ring
capable of smashing unbreakable glass, as well as handing Bond his twentieth watch.
For
his final part of the briefing, Q takes Bond to a seemingly empty platform. As
Q walks around the edge of the platform, a swirl of pixels distorts Bond's vision
before the new Aston Martin Vanquish appears. Q explains its adaptive camouflage,
which works by a polymer emitting light patterns detected by small cameras on
the opposite side.
Meanwhile M is privately briefing one of her most promising
new agents. Miranda Frost is working for MI6, spying on Gustav Graves' operations.
After failing to turn up any useful intelligence of late, M informs her that Bond
will be joining her in Iceland, and instructs her to keep an eye on him.
