Biography
Rachel Grant was born Rachel Louise Grant de Longueuil,
to an English father and a Filipino mother. Grant is fourth
cousin to Princes William and Harry of England.
She attended dance and drama lessons in England and got
her first screen job, dancing for ‘Top of the Pops’.
Grant soon won Miss Great Britain and after that success
toured the world. After her trip she returned to England
and got the role of ‘Nina’ in the Sci-Fi TV
series, “Sci Fright”.
“Die Another Day” was her first ‘big-screen’
performance and in her audition she demonstrated her knowledge
of martial arts.
"After auditioning I was at Pinewood shooting the
scene," she said. "It was terrifying, especially
when Lee Tamahori, the director, and the writers came to
look me up and down."
Rachel has since had small roles in two other films, “Double
Zero” (2003), and later the same year, “The
Purifiers”, in which she played a member of a martial
arts gang.
Rachel is said to take an interest in classic Sci-Fi series
such as “Star Wars” and "Planet of the
Apes" as well as Manga and Japanese animation. |
