Biography
Born on 15th September 1977 in Cagliari, Sardinia,
Italy, Caterina Murino is a talented bi-lingual actress.
In 1999/2000, she studied drama at the "Cinema of
Theatre" of Francesca de Sapio, and went on to appear
in theatre productions of "Richard III" (William
Shakespeare) and several Italian language plays.
Before her film career took off in Italy, Murino appeared
in commercials for various companies including Mastercard,
Swatch, Mercedes Benz, Nescafe and Lorenz.
Murino entered the film industry in 2002 with a role in
the German TV series, “In der Mitte eines Lebens”
(roughly translates to “In the centre of life”).
Her most successful foreign language film roles include
Léa Leoni in "L'Enquête corse" (2004)
and Elena in "Les Bronzés 3 - amis pour la vie"
(2006).
The upcoming "Casino Royale" will be Murino's
introduction to the world of Hollywood movie making.
Murino’s talents extend the past the world of acting.
She is bilingual - speaking English and French as
well as her native Italian. She is also a talented dancer
and enjoys tango and flamenco.
