Locals react to 007's presence in Istanbul

Skyfall - 11-04-12
Istanbul is preparing for James Bond's arrival later in the month. The famed Egyptian Bazaar is the new workplace of craftsmen and tradesmen thanks to the arrival of "Skyfall" cast and crew.

Locals explain that they have been preparing for the filming for three months. Mayor Mustafa Demir explained that they had been "a long time working for it" and that shooting would be taking place from April 10th to May 16th 2012.

However, not all business-owners are ecstatic about the arrival of Britain's famed spy. The Mayor says, "All of these [who] contribute to the promotion of Istanbul [and this] is one of the main reasons for support [of the production]". Nonetheless streets and shops will need to close for extended periods to accommodate the production's requirements.

Mr. Demir suggests that this should improve the tourist prospects for locals and playing host to 007 was an opportunity they could not turn down
