UN welcomes Daniel Craig as they launch the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals - a successor to the UN's Millennium Development Goals - were confirmed this month by the General Assembly.

Supporting the roll-out of this project is incumbent James Bond star, Daniel Craig. The British actor has already leant his support to Elimination of Mines and other Explosive Hazards as the UN's ambassador on the subject. Now, Craig was pleased to accept an invitation from the President of the General Assembly Mr. Mogens Lykketoft to hear the Pope and to watch the opening ceremony of the Sustainable Development Summit.

SDG goal 16 has a broad mandate to secure global peace and justice. Craig's image and voice have been used to publicise the goal.
