Vic Armstrong rumoured as James Bond 21 director |
Casino Royale - 10-08-04
Movie news and rumour site Dark Horizons has today posted that Vic Armstrong is a candidate to direct the 21st James Bond film.
The rumour is listed as coming from "various sources".
Armstrong has been involved with James Bond stunts since he 1967 when he was the first `ninja` to slide down into Blofeld's lair in "You Only Live Twice". Since then, Armstrong has become Action Unit Director on the Brosnan-era of films.
As "second unit director" of the last three Bond films, "Die Another Day," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Tomorrow Never Dies," Armstrong was responsible for devising stunt and action sequences, heading a team that constantly tries to outdo itself in portraying thrills and spills aimed at making audiences clutch the sides of their seats, pulses racing and hearts pumping.
He recently criticised some of the special effects sequences used in "Die Another Day", and also said that Pierce Brosnan would "be back for one if not two more" films.
MI6 Rumour Rating: Plausible.
