Albany House named as Bahamas shooting location for Casino Royale

Casino Royale - 12-02-06
Albany House, a secluded and magical estate nestled in the Southwest corner of New Providence, has the honour of being the first location to be used for several scenes of the new James Bond film - reports The Tribune.

Affectionately known as the "house with the long pink wall", Albany House has attracted a great deal of attention over the past few months as the new owners Tiger Woods, Ernie Els and the Tavistock Group (owned by Lyford Cay resident Joe Lewis) gear up to develop an ultra-luxurious and exclusive residential community.

Although representatives of the property would not comment on their guests, it is rumoured that the estate has been host to celebrities such as Bono of U2, John Travolta and Celine Dion.

"Our guests have been extremely appreciative of the quiet peace and solitude that the property has afforded them. Most arrive and are astounded at the beauty of the location and property, and within moments they are able to shrug off the pressures of the outside world and bask in the beauty of the truly Bahamian surroundings. Almost all of our guests vow to return to the shores of Albany," said Jason Callender, a director of the development company.

"We are excited to showcase the property in the upcoming movie, and participate in an event which will again bring international acclaim to islands of the Bahamas," he said. Casino Royale is slated for release in November 2006.
