Eon Productions issue press release confirming the injury of two 2nd unit crew members

Casino Royale - 25-05-06
Picked up by The Sun this morning, two 2nd unit crew members were injuried while filming at Dunsfold Park aerodrome near Cranleigh, Surrey. The following statement has been issued by the producers of CASINO ROYALE:

We regret to report that yesterday, whilst preparing the 2nd unit filming location in the UK, two of our construction workers were injured whilst dismantling a lighting rig.

Both men were taken to a nearby hospital where one was released with some bruising. The other has been kept in for treatment but is in a stable condition.

The main unit is currently shooting in the Czech Republic and Italy and will be returning to the UK later in June.

The Sun had reported earlier in the day:
Two men were seriously hurt yesterday when a scaffolding tower was blown over by strong winds on the set of the new James Bond film. They plunged 20ft on to concrete and one, in his 60s, landed on his head. He also had a suspected broken leg. The other suffered multiple injuries to the right side of his body. An off-duty paramedic on stand-by on the set of Casino Royale at Dunsfold Park, near Cranleigh, Surrey, treated the men until ambulances arrived and rushed them to hospital. Crews on four fire engines also hurried to the aerodrome where TVs Top Gear is made but the men had been freed when they arrived. An investigation into the accident was launched last night by the Health and Safety Executive.

Thanks to `Eon` for the alert.
