Aston Martin Vanquish from `Die Another Day` on display on M6 Toll |
Die Another Day - 10-05-08
Motorists on the M6 Toll in the UK may feel shaken, but not stirred, when they are treated to a view of James Bonds high performance car.
The Midland toll roads Drive For Charity Day tomorrow will see the entire days net takings shared between charities - reports the Birmingham Mail.
To add a touch of glamour, the Aston Martin Vanquish driven by Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 Bond film blockbuster, Die Another Day, will be exhibited at Norton Canes Services, near Cannock.
St Marys Hospice, in Selly Park, Birmingham, St Giles Hospice, in Lichfield, Compton Hospice, in Compton, Wolverhampton, and Katharine House, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, will all benefit.
Leonard Cheshire Disability, which runs a care home for the disabled in Sutton Coldfield, and the Royal National Institute of Blind People will also receive a share of the takings 4.50 for each car and 2.50 for a motorcycle.
Midland Expressway, which run the M6 Toll, have pledged to hand over 30,000 to the County Air Ambulance.
Families are being encouraged to head to Norton Canes Services, between junctions T6 and T7, where there will be various family events from a bouncy castle and vehicle display to tombola between 9am and 4pm.
Tom Fanning, chief executive of Midland Expressway, said: "The main purpose of tomorrow's events is the donation of the day's net toll fees.
"Midland Expressway Limited is donating the entire days net toll revenue from the M6 Toll to our nominated charities to support their work within the local community.
"How much they receive entirely depends on how many drivers use the road on the day."
