Electronic Arts Bond game `Everything or Nothing` has been delayed from a November 2003 release to early 2004 (January - March)

Die Another Day - 18-09-03
Reuters have reported that Electronic Arts today divulged the delay of James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing.

The top video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. said it has postponed the next game in its key "James Bond" franchise from this holiday season to early 2004 in order to put more development work into it.

An EA spokesman said the game, while praised by critics in early previews, would benefit from more work in the studio. He declined to detail the impact, if any, of the game`s delay on the company`s guidance for the December quarter.

The title is now loosely scheduled for the first quarter 2004 (January-March).

Confusion has surrounded the release dates for "Everything or Nothing" since the title was first announced.

Online retailer Amazon orginally listed USA releases as early as 17th November but slipped to 20th November for all platforms, except PlayStation 2 which was scheduled for November 18th. UK release dates changed from the 14th to the 28th of November recently. Other games sites listed dates as early as November 4th.

However this latest news, if confirmed, will not only be a blow to Bond fans expecting their usual winter supply of a new 007 adventure, but also to EA sales which will miss the highly lucrative Christmas market.

Last holiday`s Bond game, "007: NightFire" sold more than 5 million units across all platforms and was one of EA`s top games of 2003.
