01-Oct-2021 • No Time To Die
'No Time To Die' is celebrating an opening night UK haul of £4.89m from Thursday screenings. The film is also the widest to open in the UK & Ireland ever at 772 cinemas.
Screen Daily reports that 'No Time To Die's opening day is approximately 13% above 2015’s 'SPECTRE' (which opened on a Monday) but 26% down on 2012’s 'Skyfall', which opened on a Friday.
It is expected that 'No Time To Die' should hit around £20m for its opening weekend in the UK. For reference, 'SPECTRE' pulled in £19.98m and 'Skyfall' made £20.18m, but both of those films were shown at fewer locations with lower ticket prices. Taking that into account, the number of ticket sales and per-screen averages will be lower for 'No Time To Die' even if it breaks the opening weekend record.
