Bond About Town

A special James Bond bench will be part of the National Literacy Trust's Books About Town project in London...

Press Release
Ian Fleming Publications Ltd is very proud to be supporting the National Literacy Trust's Books About Town project. This summer - from early July until mid-September - 50 unique benches shaped like open books will be dotted around London, each one decorated by a top artist in homage to a particular work of fiction. The project aims to promote reading for pleasure, to celebrate London’s rich literary heritage, and to raise money for the National Literacy Trust when the benches are auctioned at the end of the summer.

The James Bond BookBench, designed by Freyja Dean, will be found in Bloomsbury Square Gardens, in the heart of literary London. The design incorporates elements from a number of Ian Fleming’s James Bond stories, including the hearts adorning the original cover of Casino Royale, motifs from Live And Let Die, and the dramatic iron gates of the College of Arms, visited by Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
