With the Hollywood Foreign Press in disgrace following exposés last year that revealed race problems and corruption, NBC dropped plans to televise their Golden Globe annual awards ceremony which is usually seen as the big precursor to the Oscars. The Globes were ignored by studios, with Amazon and Netflix both going as far as refusing to send screeners to the HFP voters.
With no televised event and studios boycotting their top talent away from the closed-door event, the Golden Globes were tweeted out on Sunday evening, perhaps by an intern sitting in an empty conference room at the Shilo Inn. The awards drew much mockery from the press as they often forgot to mention what film or TV show the actors and actresses were receiving them for.
Predictably, 'No Time To Die' won in the 'Best Original Song' category, and is probably a shoo-in for the Academy Award too. The official 007 social media accounts have been eerily silent about their big win at the Golden Globes.
