Express tabloid gets almost everything wrong about Bond's future

28-Dec-2020 • Bond News

The Sunday Express tabloid in the UK this weekend published a long article about the future of the James Bond franchise given that their studio partner and 50% rights holder MGM is up for sale.

Unfortunately, deputy editor Michael Booker gets almost everything the wrong way around.

Some quick fact checks:

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, heads of Danjaq (who own EON Productions) were against selling the rights for 'No Time To Die' to a streaming service.

Naomie Harris did float the idea of a Moneypenny spin-off earlier this year, but this was quickly shot down by Broccoli.

MGM does not have "unprecedented value", in fact, its value has slumped in recent years.
