Roger Deakins honoured with a Knighthood

31-Dec-2020 • Bond News

Cinematographer Roger Deakins, who lensed the 2012 James Bond film 'Skyfall', is to be awarded a Knighthood in the Queen's New Year's Honours List.

Deakins, who has been nominated for an Academy Award 15 times and narrowly missed out on winning with 'Skyfall', finally landed Oscars for 'Blade Runner 2049' and '1917.'

He was previously honoured by Queen Elizabeth II as a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2013 Birthday Honours, for "services to film."
