Colonel
Moon (Will Yun Lee)
Character
Lee's
character is Colonel Moon, a power-crazed North Korean Colonel hell-bent on reuniting
North and South Korea by destabilising relations between the countries and overthrowing
the South, before eventually waging war against Japan and the US. Educated at
Oxford and Harvard, he is at odds with his peace loving father, General Moon,
and is aided by his accomplice, Zao.
Bond first meets Colonel Moon during
a weapons deal - Moon is frequently occupied with the illegal smugging of diamonds
from Africa.
Between them they own an arsenal of deadly weapons. Amongst
his small army is an arsenal of military hovercraft and several sports cars, which
he uses to capture Bond during the film's pre-title sequence. It appears that
Colonel Moon is an extremely ruthless man, even with his own men. "He likes
to put them on the edge" one report said.
The Colonel Moon character
is one of the film's main villains; the others are Graves (Toby Stephens) and
his chief henchman Zao (Rick Yune).
